PMHDC Southwest Medical Aid (PSMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing durable medical equipment and medical supplies free of charge to other qualified charitable organizations, for their clientele, who may otherwise go without.
Our supplies come from the excess inventory in hospitals, from private practitioners, and from individuals. The donated medical supplies and equipment are primarily distributed through a network of non-profits, hospitals, clinics, and agencies in Arizona as well as in Sonora, Mexico, with occasional shipments internationally.
Recipients are people who have become marginalized through poverty, fixed incomes, natural disasters or political unrest. PSMA primarily serves Southern Arizona and border communities in Mexico, but is occasionally called upon to help other countries such as the Philippines, Belize, Guatemala, Peru, Honduras, and the African Continent.
It is anticipated that nearly 100,000 pounds of medical supplies and equipment will be distributed this year through organizations such as PPEP, El Rio Health Centers, Gospel Rescue Mission, The South Tucson Lions Club, Tucson Collaborative Care Community (TC-3), Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports, and the TONCA Foundation, as well as clinics and hospitals in Mexico and around the world.
